My husband and I love board game, the Settlers of Catan. We played it with his cousin, Holly, and her husband, Brad, tonight. When we met them at July 4th weekend at grandma's house, we learned that they loved this game too. Yay, it was our first time to play Settlers with somebody since we moved to Cache Valley! This board game needs a half luck and a half strategy. Each time of game, the number (1-12) frequently rolled is different, and I was lucky tonight. The number 5, 6, and 9 were rolled quite often, and I won this game within one hour. It was a quick game, and I was very happy about it.
I have an episode about this game. Originally, our senior missionaries friends, Elder and Sister Faldmo, introduced me this Settlers of Catan when I was living in Hawaii in 2006. Shortly after I started dating my husband, and he joined to play with us. I confess that I am (was) a pretty competitive, but this game made me worse. One night, my husband (my fiancé at that time), beat me pretty bad on the game. I think he cut my roads, and I was stuck and couldn’t extend roads or new settlements. Of course, he was very happy to win for the game. On the way home, I said to him pretty seriously, “I don’t know if I can get married to you.” I was very frustrated. I was a little bit mature enough, and I stayed our relationship even after I lost badly that night. I am happy that I got married to husband.
Today, I can enjoy playing Settlers of Catan when I win and when I lose unless someone picking me and putting a robber on me constantly.
